Our Bright Future: a stepping stone to employment for young people

The proportion of 16-24 year olds who were unemployed in June-August 2018 was 10.8%; that’s 464,000 young people. To give this figure some context, that is more than the entire population of Edinburgh.
Our Bright Future, a programme led by The Wildlife Trusts started in 2016, has so far involved 80,000 young people in projects such as planting community orchards, designing apps to tackle environmental issues & learning to be beekeepers. All of the participants are learning to love nature.
We hear from Ellie who managed to secure a graduate trainee position at Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust. She now works for Ribble Rivers Trust.
