Plotting the Polecat’s Recovery
A member of the mustelid family, the polecat lives a solitary, nocturnal and secretive lifestyle and can be difficult to study. It’s not commonly encountered as it inhabits a variety of habitats, and does not excavate its own dens, which makes knowing where to look even more difficult! That’s why the Vincent Wildlife Trust needs your help!
They are appealing to any sightings, whether on trail cams, trapped, or even unfortunate roadkill. All of which can be used to help with the 2024-25 survey to establish how well their populations are doing across the UK.
