In the UK, recent assessments estimate that invasive non-native species cost the UK economy approximately £4 billion per year! At the Canal & Rivers Trust alone, invasive non-native plants can cost over £700k per year to manage and control. 

So yes, the impact of invasive non-native species is something that everyone, not just in the environmental/conservation sector, needs to be aware of this #InvasiveSpeciesWeek and beyond.
