Conservation - an accessible industry?

Brian Heppenstall is Senior Ranger at BCP Council’s Hengistbury Head site and is worried that the conservation industry is inadvertently limiting access to its potential workforce. 
Making the step into paid employment is unlikely to be ‘easy’ in any sector, with supply of candidates outstripping the demand for available jobs. 
However, requirements for costly licences and a desire for relevant experience for a great deal of entry-level roles, make the conservation sector, arguably, less accessible than others.
Brian provides his thoughts on what the industry could do to address this along with details for applicants wanting to get in to a life in conservation.
