Changes in volunteering over CJS's 25 years

Volunteer advertising is one of CJS fortes; we’ve been doing it for 25 years. Now there are more voluntary roles, many of a slightly different type of work and significant changes to the volunteer offer from employers. The last couple of advertisers surveys have both reported a decrease in number of applicants and a decrease in interest - that goes for paid posts too.  There are many possible reasons for this but the most likely are: people can't afford to volunteer, there are more posts so the same numbers are now spread across more vacancies, are people being more picky?
