Check the Chip Day
As much as everyone loves a bag of chips these chips are the
microchip sort, specifically those implanted in your dogs and cats. The initiative was started by the American
Veterinary Medical Association and acts as a reminder to keep your details current
on the pet ID databases and to ask your vet at your pet's next check up to scan
the chip to ensure it's functioning and easy to find.
Should the worst happen and your dog (or cat) disappear a
functioning microchip and up to date details can help in reuniting you - even after six years as this story from last month proves: A family have been reunited
with their pet dog - six years after she was suspected to have been stolen.
