Looking after our parks during lockdown
Throughout the pandemic, parks have offered a lifeline during a time of uncertainty. Getting some fresh air and taking a walk outside has provided a way to help people stay physically and mentally healthy. But looking after the parks came with challenges. At the beginning of the lockdown staff had to work from home and all volunteering was halted. When visitors could be welcomed back, the upturn in footfall took its toll on the fabric of the parks, especially over the winter months and then there’s the litter issue…..
