Becoming a livestock checker with Lancashire Wildlife Trust

Becoming a livestock checker is great for hands on experience with animals. 
Lancashire Wildlife Trust uses sheep, cattle, goats and ponies for conservation grazing. The volunteering role is flexible and volunteers come from all walks of life, the only request is that checkers commit to the same day each week. 
Lucy has thoroughly enjoyed being a livestock checker; it has allowed her to develop the practical side of skills and knowledge gained theoretically in college.
