Volunteering is one of the best ways to gain experience in the conservation and environment sectors. 6 months of full time volunteering would be great but there are very few people who have the opportunity to do this - there are however a huge amount of short term opportunities available across the UK ranging from a couple of hours to contribute to citizen science; through a regular commitment fitting around your paid job to those long term full time positions that equip you with all the skills you need to secure a conservation career.
