Young winners of the British Wildlife Photography Awards 2018
Who says bugs aren't cute? asks Lucy Farrell, winner of the
under 12 years group with her incredible photo of a cockchafer bug 'smiling' at
the camera for you.
Who Says Bugs aren’t Cute (Cockchafer),

Another mini-beast getting a special mention is Jake Kneale's
The Long wait photo of a spider in the middle of its web spun between
umbellifers. Vertebrates but not furry
ones gave 17 year old Ivan Carter the winning image of three tadpoles in a
puddle on a leaf for the 12-18 years category (below). Of the other highly commended
images I particularly like the solemn, contemplative 'ugly duckling' in Josh
Clarke's Mother's Love photo of a cygnet under a swan's wing.
Eye of the Spawn
(Common Tadpoles), Walmer Castle, Kent, Ivan Carter, Age 17
