A garden is a lovesome thing*
Today is Garden Meditation Day
What a wonderful idea, a day to spend in the garden musing
on life, it's a day to encourage you to get out and enjoy the sacred space of a
garden. I find that problems are often
solved head down, hands in the soil carefully pulling weeds out of the borders,
the brain has to concentrate enough on what you're doing but not so much that
you can't let it wander and unconsciously unravel that knotty problem that's
been nagging away for days. (Elbow deep in flour and knee deep in heather work
just as well!)
Originally it was the idea of C.L. Fornari the GardenLady.com who believes that gardens can help connect us to
ourselves, the natural world, and each other in deep and moving ways.
This wonderful garden in the photo was The Cardogan Estate show garden
designed by Robert Myers and exhibited at the Chelsea Flower Show in 2008, I
can only dream of such perfection! This year's RHS Chelsea Flower show starts
on 22 May
